Message	if it. My dipstick did pop out of the tube and lost a fair bit of oil. The car still felt like it had good pull, but the smoke show behind me when I got my foot off the gas pedal was the tell-tale sign that something was wrong. Honestly, do a compression test. That will help diagnose the problem.
